Basketball Game Preview: Fremont Tigers vs. Westview

The Fremont Tigers will face off against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Westview is hoping to do what Omaha Central couldn't on Monday: put an end to Fremont's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Fremont sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over Omaha Central.

Fremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach Keaton led the charge by putting up 14 points. What's more, Keaton also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Aiden Vacha, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points.

Meanwhile, Westview was able to grind out a solid victory over Omaha North on Monday, taking the game 61-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for Westview.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fremont, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Fremont was dealt a bruising 74-44 defeat at the hands of Westview in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Fremont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
