Softball Recap: Hannibal Warriors vs. Bishop Grimes Cobras
Hannibal extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Bishop Grimes Cobras, falling 15-5. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cobras apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Bishop Grimes, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the match before.
For Bishop Grimes' part, Nella Ascioti made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ascioti was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bishop Grimes let Rainbow Butler and Liz Corl run wild. Butler got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Corl got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
