Football Recap: Midlothian's Rushing Dominance Continues + How To Watch

Midlothian won the last time they faced Kimball and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Knights by a score of 28-20. The Panthers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Midlothian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Beau Wendel out in front who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 101 yards on six of 12 attempts. Kentorion King was Wendel's top target, picking up two receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Midlothian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Midlothian's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Nick Teufel, Foster Mason, and Jerrell Bridges, who each picked up one sack apiece. Midlothian received some extra help from Bridges, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Midlothian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kimball, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midlothian will head out to face off against Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kimball, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Pinkston at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
