Softball Recap: Metuchen Comes Up Short

Metuchen fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Edison on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. The defeat leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

Metuchen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Fernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Fernandez's first of the season.

Metuchen's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Edison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metuchen will venture away from home to square off against Lawrence at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edison, they will head out to take on Highland Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
