Baseball Recap: True North Classical Academy Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for True North Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Miami Beach Hi-Tides get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Hi-Tides: they've now won three in a row.

Christian Villabona tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jayden Cedeno was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Mestre, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

True North Classical Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Miami Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

True North Classical Academy will challenge North Broward Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miami Beach, they will welcome Coral Park at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hi-Tides are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
