Softball Recap: Whetstone Comes Up Short

Whetstone lost against Groveport-Madison back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Whetstone came up short against Groveport-Madison, falling 11-1. The match marked the Braves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Whetstone saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayley Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Jillian Nelson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Whetstone has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Groveport-Madison's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Whetstone will take on Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Groveport-Madison, they will challenge Newark at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give Groveport-Madison their first taste of in-conference action this season.
