The Wetumpka Indians will take on the Prattville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Wetumpka's favor as the team sits on 30 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Prattville has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
While Wetumpka's victory against Elmore County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Wetumpka skirted past Elmore County 3-2. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sophie Arant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Bailey Carlise was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 12 games.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Prattville's offense. They came up short against Central on Thursday, falling 6-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.
Kam Cord was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
Prattville's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wetumpka, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wetumpka hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Prattville struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Wetumpka's way against Prattville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Wetumpka made off with a 10-0 win. Will Wetumpka repeat their success, or does Prattville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
