Softball Game Preview: La Grange Leopards vs. Giddings Buffaloes

For the second straight game, La Grange will face off against Giddings. The Leopards will host the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Grange is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between La Grange and Giddings, and Giddings kept the tradition alive. The Leopards fell 5-2 to the Buffaloes on Saturday.

For Giddings' part, Emeree Townsend spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Townsend has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landry Mutscher was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Emma Short, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

La Grange's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-1. As for Giddings, they now have a winning record of 12-11-1.
