Football Game Preview: Leake Academy Rebels vs. Central Hinds Academy Cougars

Leake Academy is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing at home against the Central Hinds Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Leake Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Tri-County Academy just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Tri-County Academy 52-18. The matchup marked Leake Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leake Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Garrett Adcock, who picked up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 78 yards. George Wilcox was in the mix as well, providing Leake Academy with two scores.

Meanwhile, Central Hinds Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 30-26 to Riverfield Academy. While the Cougars had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Raiders 6-0.

Leake Academy will have to contain Mason Copeland as he made an impact in Central Hinds Academy's last game. He rushed for 98 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Copeland's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
