Baseball Game Preview: New Albany Bulldogs vs. Senatobia Warriors

For the second straight game, New Albany will face off against Senatobia. The Bulldogs will welcome the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Albany has three straight victories, Senatobia has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Albany had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Senatobia on Tuesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Parker Skinner spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, New Albany got a massive performance out of Finn Willis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Hicks, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

New Albany pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Senatobia, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
