Baseball Recap: Penn Yan Academy Takes a Loss

Penn Yan Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They lost 21-3 to the Wayne Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 17, 2023, but that streak is no more.

As for Wayne, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Wayne's part, Michael Grasso was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Grasso a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Giudice, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Penn Yan Academy will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Newark at 5:00 p.m. As for Wayne, they will square off against East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
