MaxPreps Game of the Week: No. 2 Bishop Gorman vs. No. 8 Mater Dei features 70 players with at least one Division I offer

National showdown is highlighted by athletes headed to Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and USC.

The MaxPreps Game of the Week is headed to Las Vegas Friday as No. 2 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) takes on No. 8 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).

The showdown features a combined 70 players that have landed at least one FBS or FCS offer, with Mater Dei leading the way with 39.

Five-star prospects Chris Henry Jr., Mark Bowman and Kodi Greene headline the contingent from Mater Dei, which features 23 players with a three-star rating or higher.

Five members of the Mater Dei defense are four-stars including Shaun Scott, Ace Leutele and Tomu Topui.



Bishop Gorman is led by five-star defensive backs Jett Washington and Hayden Stepp. Washington recorded five interceptions last season as a junior while Stepp led the Gaels in pass deflections.

Gorman also has a pair of four-stars in sophomore defensive lineman Tayaun Lawrence and junior running back Terrance Grant. Lawrence has 15 tackles including six for a loss this season. 

There are no player rankings for the Class of 2029 but nine freshmen from the two schools have offers.
