Basketball Recap: Pawnee Heights Comes Up Short

Pawnee Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Satanta Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-47 last Friday.

Defeat or not, Pawnee Heights got some senior leadership from Clayton Hammeke and Brady Carlson. Hammeke almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards, while Carlson went 5 of 9 to rack up 11 points and five rebounds. Hammeke continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Pawnee Heights' loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Satanta, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13.

Pawnee Heights has already played their next contest, a 50-36 defeat against Deerfield on the 11th. As for Satanta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-19 victory against Moscow on the 11th.
