Basketball Recap: Denair Piles Up the Points Against Le Grand

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stone Ridge Christian, Denair was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-26 victory over the Le Grand Bulldogs. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Denair to victory were Koby Cervantes and Brody Fitzgerald. Cervantes dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Fitzgerald posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and six blocks. Those six blocks gave Fitzgerald a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derek Potter, who put up eight points and five assists.

Denair now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Le Grand, they are on a 19-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denair will welcome Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Stone Ridge Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Denair surely won't give up without a fight. Le Grand has already played their next contest (against Waterford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
