Baseball Recap: Connersville Gets the Win

While Connersville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past the Silver Creek Dragons 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Parker Flanigan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Keller, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Connersville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Silver Creek, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Connersville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-11 loss against East Central on the 21st. As for Silver Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Eastern on the 21st.
