Preview: Stern Titans vs. Animo De La Hoya Boxers
Stern has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Animo De La Hoya Boxers at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Animo De La Hoya took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stern, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Stern made off with a 51-50 victory over Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus.
Vince Villanueva was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jr Romero, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Animo De La Hoya's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rise Kohyang.
Stern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Animo De La Hoya, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Stern against Animo De La Hoya in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 68-30 win. Does Stern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Animo De La Hoya turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
