Volleyball Recap: Mount Horeb's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mount Horeb had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Monona Grove Silver Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since September 6th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mount Horeb who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 15-13.

Ella Kahl paced Mount Horeb's offense, picking up 13 kills. Kahl got some help from Laila Rasmussen and her 24 assists. Rasmussen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mount Horeb's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Monona Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Mount Horeb wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Fort Atkinson on the 23rd. As for Monona Grove, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Barneveld on the 20th.
