Football Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Kennedy's offense. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Holy Family Tigers on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 70 points in the game before, the Commanders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marcelis Allen threw for 68 yards on seven of 17 attempts. Urijah Garcia was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards. On the ground, Carlos Meza rushed for 29 yards.

Kennedy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Holy Family, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Kennedy will head out to challenge Littleton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commanders will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Holy Family, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. The Lions will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
