League recap: Delaware Valley Charter scores huge upset over Prep Charter

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Prep Charter, who took down 289th ranked Prep Charter, 14-8.

Imhotep Charter's David Williams recorded the longest rushing play in Philadelphia Public - AA this season in his game against Communications Tech last week. Williams ran for 99 yards on the play and finished with 172 on the day as his team bested Communications Tech.

Imhotep Charter's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andre Dreuitt threw for nine yards and Williams had nine yards receiving.

Thanks to the talents of Dreuitt and Williams Albie Crosby's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Dreuitt leads the league in passing with 679 yards, while Williams has rushed for 955 yards this season. Prep Charter's John Graham leads the league in receiving yards with 323 on 22 catches.

Williams of the the Panthers is only 45 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Imhotep Charter takes on Delaware Valley Charter. The Panthers have allowed 43 points this season, while Barry Thomas' team has given up 157. Imhotep Charter allowed 8 points last week as it topped Communications Tech.

Delaware Valley Charter moved up to 273 from 312 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Delaware Valley Charter climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Tony Beaty's team 14-8.
