Baseball Recap: Norristown Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Norristown hadn't done well against Upper Merion Area recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles walked away with an 8-4 win over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Brett Murphy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. John Angelo Salamone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Norristown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Norristown's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Upper Merion Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Norristown is set to take on their familiar foe Pottstown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area will challenge rival Upper Perkiomen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
