Volleyball Recap: Bonneville Bees vs. Wood River Wolverines
Bonneville and Wood River squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bonneville had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Wood River Wolverines. The Bees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.
While Bonneville ultimately came up short, they really made Wood River work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 14-25, 26-24.
Kadance Leonard paced Bonneville's offense, picking up 19 kills. Leonard got some help from
Cambria Western and her 33 assists.
Shayla Belnap controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Bonneville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 23-17 record this season. As for Wood River, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-12.
Bonneville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wood River, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lakeland on the 2nd.
