Baseball Recap: Smithville Comes Up Short

Smithville came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Hillsdale Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Smithies of the 15-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Smithville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Smithville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hillsdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

While Smithville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
