Volleyball Recap: Pius XI Catholic Has No Trouble Against Waukesha South

The Pius XI Catholic Popes got the win against the Waukesha South Blackshirts on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Popes.

While Pius XI Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.

Ben Ballard paced Pius XI Catholic's offense, picking up 19 kills. Ballard got some help from Finley Roney and his 14 assists. Morgan Gillitzer controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Pius XI Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Waukesha South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Pius XI Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Greendale on the 8th. As for Waukesha South, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Sun Prairie on the 2nd.
