Soccer Game Preview: Desert Mountain vs. Perry

The Desert Mountain Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Perry Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Mountain will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Desert Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Arizona College Prep, who was ranked 11th at the time (Desert Mountain was ranked 21st). Desert Mountain walked away with a 3-1 victory over Arizona College Prep on Friday. Wolves' winning goal came courtesy of Reece Mersiowsky.

Meanwhile, Perry got the win against Chandler on Friday by a conclusive 6-1. With the Pumas ahead 5-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Perry has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four games. As for Desert Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 13-5-2.

Desert Mountain took their victory against Perry in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Desert Mountain since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
