Basketball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Northeast Eagles were beaten by the St. Paul's Girls Gators 55-19. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maiah Parker, who posted six points. Brynn Jones was another key player, putting up seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Paul's Girls, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northern at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for St. Paul's Girls, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
