Baseball Recap: Andover Beats Maple Grove for Their Third Straight Win

Andover hadn't done well against Maple Grove recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Crimson. Six seems to be a good number for the Huskies as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Logan Nistler looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jaxon Knutson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

The win was the third in a row for Andover, bringing their record up to 4-1. As for Maple Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Andover has already played their next matchup, an 11-3 victory against Mayo on the 19th. As for Maple Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against Elk River on the 22nd.
