Volleyball Recap: Xavier Takes Down West Bend East in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Xavier rose to the challenge on Thursday. They put the hurt on the West Bend East Suns with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Suns: they've now won five in a row.

Xavier was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-12.

Rose Kendall paced Xavier's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kendall got some help from Sydney Neilitz and her 28 assists. Lily Renz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why West Bend East lost, don't look at Sami Weber. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and two assists. Weber has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Xavier's victory bumped their record up to 28-10. As for West Bend East, they moved to 16-23 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Xavier has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Kewaskum on the 25th. West Bend East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
