Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek Wins Going Away Against Northwest

Stewarts Creek never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Northwest Vikings 10-0. With that win, the Red Hawks brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jeff Moran tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Shawn Rhodes was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Sallee, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Stewarts Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwest only posted a batting average of .067.

The victory got Stewarts Creek back to even at 4-4. As for Northwest, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Stewarts Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-8 win against Ensworth on the 14th. As for Northwest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-3 defeat against Blackman on the 14th.
