Volleyball Recap: Dayton's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dayton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Fernley Vaqueros by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Dust Devils: when they faced off against the Vaqueros on October 3rd, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (95-93) Dayton actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 29-27, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Fernley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jocelyn Escartin had 27 digs. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Escartin.

Dayton's record is now 19-8. As for Fernley, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7.

As of now, neither Dayton nor the Vaqueros have any future games scheduled.
