Softball Recap: Warren East's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Warren East dropped their record down to 25-12 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the South Warren Spartans by a score of 2-0. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for South Warren, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For South Warren's part, not much got past Courtney Norwood, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Warren East off the board. Norwood has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 19 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Warren's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Borders, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As of now, neither Warren East nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
