Baseball Game Preview: Highland Park Giants vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

Highland Park is 0-4 against Warren Township since May of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Giants will venture away from home to face off against the Blue Devils at 10:00 a.m. Highland Park's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Warren Township's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Highland Park fell victim to New Trier and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trevians.

Libertyville hit Warren Township with a ten-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Warren Township's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Highland Park, their loss dropped their record down to 23-8-1.

Highland Park couldn't quite finish off Warren Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Giants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
