Softball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Trinity Christian Homeschool

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage Christian Academy). They blew past Trinity Christian Homeschool 28-10 on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with Trinity Christian Homeschool recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Leah Pace was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pace was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shayla Smart, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christiana Garrett, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4.

Heritage Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in eight consecutive matchups.

Heritage Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Trinity Christian Homeschool, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Heritage Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-8 win against Tuscaloosa Christian on the 6th. As for Trinity Christian Homeschool, they will take on Evangel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on March 11th.
