Baseball Recap: Woodhaven Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Park

Woodhaven won the last time they faced Lincoln Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Railsplitters with a sharp 14-4 win. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Matt Regan looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Woodhaven got a massive performance out of Cameron Thorning, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Thorning has posted over his last ten matchups. Aiden Moritz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Woodhaven's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Lincoln Park, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Woodhaven will challenge Riverview at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Park, they will square off against Jefferson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
