Softball Recap: West York Area Comes Up Short

West York Area blew Dover out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Dover got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Maddie McGlynn put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

McGlynn wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braya Berrios, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for West York Area and nudges their season record down to 6-14. As for Dover, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West York Area will square off against York Suburban at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Dover, they will challenge Eastern York at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
