Baseball Recap: Wilburton Comes Up Short

Wilburton has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.04 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-1 to the Preston Pirates. The Diggers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Wilburton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Preston, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Wilburton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Wynnewood on the 9th. Preston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
