Volleyball Game Preview: Montverde Academy Eagles vs. Trinity Prep Saints

Montverde Academy hasn't had much luck against Trinity Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will face off against the Saints at 6:30 p.m. Montverde Academy will be strutting in after a win while Trinity Prep will be coming in after a loss.

Montverde Academy will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lake Highland Prep, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles blew past the Highlanders 3-0 on Thursday.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 26-24, 27-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep lost 3-0 to Lake Nona on Tuesday.

While Trinity Prep was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-16.

Trinity Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Montverde Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Montverde Academy beat Trinity Prep 3-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
