Softball Recap: Arroyo Grande Takes a Loss

Arroyo Grande came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the St. Joseph Knights, falling 7-1. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Adelana Rodriguez (2026) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arroyo Grande saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaedyn Valdez (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Arroyo Grande's record is now 7-16. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
