Baseball Recap: Milford Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Milford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Anderson Raptors, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 7th.

Milford got a great performance from Zach Wiener as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Wiener has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quinn Zurmehly, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Milford's record now sits at 9-6. As for Anderson, they moved to 11-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Milford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raptors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
