Volleyball Recap: Tanner Tumblin Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

Riverside took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against James F. Byrnes, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors won by a set and slipped past the Rebels 2-1. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tanner Tumblin, who had 14 kills and two aces. Tumblin has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Omar Rida, who had five kills, three digs, and three aces.

Riverside now has a winning record of 6-5. As for James F. Byrnes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Riverside and James F. Byrnes will both be playing Greenwood the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Rebels will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
