Baseball Recap: Grace Davis Gets the Win

Grace Davis lost to Livingston last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Grace Davis walked away with a 12-7 victory over Livingston. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the match before.

Logan Ariza made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Grace Davis' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lukas Silva, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alex Ceja Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Grace Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.
