Softball Recap: Natalia Finds Home Field Redemption Against Dilley

There's no place like home for Natalia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Dilley Wolves on Friday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Arabella Gallegos made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Gallegos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Selyene Gallegos was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Kira Jimenez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Natalia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dilley only posted a batting average of .250.

Natalia pushed their record up to 16-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Dilley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Looking ahead, Natalia will head out on the road to challenge Hondo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hondo has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something Natalia will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dilley, they will host Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cotulla will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Dilley surely won't give up without a fight.
