Soccer Recap: Tulare Western Takes a Loss

Tulare Western was the 2-1 winner over Porterville when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Tulare Western Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Porterville Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Panthers are ranked 89th).

Tulare Western has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-3 record this season. As for Porterville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tulare Western will challenge Madera at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Porterville, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Redwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
