Baseball Recap: Wakulla Triumphs

Wakulla's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Leon Lions 5-3. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 8-1 loss.

William Wright looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wakulla is 8-4 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Wakulla saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Estep, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Owen Klees, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Wakulla pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Leon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

Wakulla didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Rickards on the 15th. As for Leon, they have also already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against Lincoln on the 15th.
