DUNSMUIR, Calif. -
Dunsmuir (Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Dayton Pepperdine ran for a touchdown with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
Redding Christian (Palo Cedro, Calif.) 28-20.
After nabbing the lead on a
Hayden Piper touchdown pass to
Frankie Aventino, the Lions went into halftime with a 7-0 lead. The Tigers took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by Pepperdine in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring eight points in the third, Dunsmuir still trailed by six points going into the fourth quarter. But 20 points in the fourth helped DHS pull out the victory.
The Tigers got revenge for last year's 24-16 loss to Redding Christian with the victory.
The loss comes after Redding Christian defeated Hayfork 49-44 last week.
In a California - North (8 Man) game next week Dunsmuir (8-0) takes on Hayfork, and Redding Christian (7-1) will go up against Big Valley also in a California - North (8 Man) game.
