Baseball Recap: Bracken County Polar Bears vs. Augusta Panthers
After only one run in their last game, Bracken County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Augusta on Saturday. The Polar Bears never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Polar Bears not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28, 2025 (when they won 13-3).

Mitchell Steinhauer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bracken County got a massive performance out of Corbin Combess, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Combess has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Caleb Sutton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
The victory got Bracken County back to even at 2-2. As for Augusta, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Bracken County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-9 defeat against Nicholas County on the 21st. Hopefully Augusta paid attention to the Polar Bears' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Polar Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
