Volleyball Recap: Columbus Grove Takes a Loss

Columbus Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Celina. Columbus Grove was not able to make up for their defeat to Celina from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Columbus Grove was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Celina work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 26-24.

When it comes to explaining why Columbus Grove lost, don't look at Saige Benroth. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and two aces.

Columbus Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Celina, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus Grove will challenge Upper Scioto Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Celina, they will square off against Marion Local at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
