Basketball Recap: Wink Wildcats vs. Denver City Mustangs
Wink lost against Denver City back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wink Wildcats took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denver City Mustangs. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Wink saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layne Lusby posted 17 points along with five boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lusby has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Montoya, who earned eight points.
