Basketball Recap: Newport Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Newport, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They managed a 41-36 victory over the Kettle Falls Bulldogs on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in January, they had to take a 64-54 loss.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Kettle Falls, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Newport and Kettle Falls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Newport (ranked 320th) will meet St. George's (ranked 147th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Kettle Falls will challenge Northwest Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 199 places (264 vs. 65).
