Soccer Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with William Penn

Middletown faced William Penn in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Colonials by a score of 3-2. Middletown were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as William Penn apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Middletown's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for William Penn, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Middletown will venture away from home to challenge Caravel Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for William Penn, they will head out to face off against Milford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
