Volleyball Game Preview: South Spartans vs. Mira Costa Mustangs

For the first time this season, South will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will look to defend their home court against the Mira Costa Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Mira Costa took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South, who comes in off a win.

South took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Narbonne 3-0. The matchup marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season so far.

While South won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Mira Costa's undefeated season came to an end after 16 games on Saturday. They fell just short of Loyola by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mira Costa fell to 16-1. As for South, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
